RodeoPin Privacy Policy
Last updated September 5, 2026
RodeoPin is a free, crowdsourced map for trailer haulers. This page explains what information the app uses and why. RodeoPin does not sell or share your data with advertisers, and does not run ads.
Location
If you allow it, RodeoPin uses your device's location to center the map on where you are and to show your position (and driving direction) as a blue dot while you use the app. This location is used only on your device to display the map — RodeoPin does not store, transmit, or log your location on any server.
Account & Email
Adding a pin requires signing in with your email address (a one-time 6-digit code, no password). Your email is used only to identify you as the author of the pins and notes you add, and to let you sign in again later. We don't use your email for marketing and don't share it with third parties.
Pins & Notes You Add
Any venue pin or note you submit (name, location, notes, pin type) is public and visible to everyone using RodeoPin — that's the whole point of the crowdsourced map. Please don't include personal information in a pin or note that you don't want public.
Offline Caching
To keep the map usable with no signal (common at rodeo grounds), the app saves a copy of the public venue pins directly on your device. This is the same public pin data described above — nothing additional is collected to enable this.
Analytics
RodeoPin uses privacy-friendly, anonymized analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand overall usage of the app. This does not identify you personally. In the native app, we also use Google Analytics (Firebase) to measure how the app is used. The optional "how did you hear about RodeoPin?" question on the welcome screen is anonymous and recorded with this same app analytics — it is not tied to your account.
